FENDER CLASSIC 1964 Black STRATOCASTER electric guitar
History: I purchased this 1964 strat from Matt Umanov Guitars in New York. I was looking for a telecaster but John Campbell, the legendary blues guitarist who was working a day gig at Umanov's, pulled out this strat. He said it was just taken off "hold" by Bob Dylan, and that it would cost a lot more but that it had been refinished, it had two original pickups but the middle one was made by some famous guy who made pedal steel pickups. There was a beautiful mother-of-pearl, carved rose in the guitar plus brass speed nobs, a brass bridge and a brass back plate with the name "Laura E Dunn" engraved, which also made the guitar affordable at the time. All these modifications were made many years ago - most likely in the 1960s.

I played the guitar at the second stage at Farm Aid 2004, the Village Gate, Lone Star Cafe and Roadhouse, Roxy Theatre and many more opening for Hank III, Leon Russell, Merl Saunders, Rodney Crowell, Buddy and Julie Miller, Todd Snider, The Blasters, The Drive By Truckers, Rosie Flores, Sugar Land, Suzy Bogguss, Bob Schneider, Caitlan Cary, Anders Osborne, Tony Furtado, The Young Dubliners, Legendary Shack Shakers and Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise. So, it's got the normal nicks and scratches, wear and tear that you would expect on a professional instrument that's been played a lot. This guitar has been serviced by top pros:
