The "BRAND NEW KEY" CD features legendary musicians Carol Kaye (Pet Sounds, Phil Specter, ...), Bernard Purdie (Steely Dan, Aretha Franklin,...), Jerry Jemmott (Aretha Franklin, BBKing,...) and many others. It was produced by Betty Dylan and Marvin Etzioni (Counting Crows, Lone Justice,...). The CD features a funky and ultra sexy take on Melanie Safkia's Brand New Key as well as Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues. The slow, bluesy Kiss Me Back was recorded for and featured in the independent film, "Foreign Correspondence", starring Melanie Lynskey. The acoustic waltz, Sunken Heart, features Dr. Dan's vulnerable spoken-word style vocals. L.A.'s a Boring Town highlights Dr. Dan on his 1929 National Steel guitar and Vickie's powerful voice lamenting L.A.'s dirty water and "boring" lifestyle.
