The "Flame" CD features legendary musicians Carol Kaye (Pet Sounds, Phil Specter, ...), Bernard Purdie (Steely Dan, Aretha Franklin,...), and Jerry Jemmott (Aretha Franklin, BBKing,...). It was produced by Betty Dylan and Marvin Etzioni (Counting Crows, Lone Justice,...). An eclectic mix of loungy jazz, americana and rock, it features the slinkiest version of Rocket Man you've ever heard and a fresh take on the Beatles' Can't Buy Me Love.
There is also a screenplay, "Flame", written by Dan of Betty Dylan. It's the story of a flame-haired teenager who goes on a metaphorical journey in which she literally "finds her voice" and becomes the lead singer in a band. Dan wrote this screenplay and the title song before he ever met Vickie...whose life it seems to illustrate...which freaked Vickie out for a while.
